Divergence Athena
The Alpha divergence is a based on a divergent world history that was propagated during the battle of Syracuse in 212 BCE. The weapons of Archimedes proved to be overwhelming to the Roman forces. The effectiveness of these weapons led other states in the Mediterranean to lean into scientific discovery.
After Rome failed to conquer the Syracuse Archimedes secretly shipped weapons to aid the forces of Hannibal in Italy. Hannibal used the weapons and reinforcements led by his brother Hasdrubal to start a siege of Rome. The city of Rome was conquered by Hannibal in 209 BCE. The prosperity of Carthage rises and Africa becomes the dominant society in the world.
The prime Divergence Alpha 1 (Terra Alternis A1) is a place of extreme order. Carthage is the world's largest city with nearly 200 million inhabitants. Most religions have disappeared, though some fringe sects exist in the spaces known as the wild lands.
Divergence Erlang-Shen
The Song Dynasty's inventions of gun powder, compass navigation, and moveable type led to an economic surge that made it the most prosperous country in the world. In this divergence the Song Dynasty was able to implement the reforms of Wang Anshi with great success. The rejection of religion, and the education of lower classes led to the collapse of other dynastic societies in the region. The Song Dynasty acquired land and expanded primarily through economic conquest, but when military conquest was needed the Song armies were often seen as liberators as opposed to enemies.
In the prime Divergence Erlang-Shen 1 the Song Dynasty repelled the Mongol invasion and then expanded their empire to encompass all of Asia. The Song Empire includes Northern Africa, and Europe up to the Danube river.

The original prime world that sits in a balance of chaos and order.
Divergence Mercury
The Prime Divergence Mercury 1 (Terra Alternis M1) is a world ravaged by climate change. While the world leaned towards science many held to beliefs of magic and miracles. This had the combined effect of inhibiting the scientific discovery while also dampening the benefits magic might have had in addressing climate change. By the time the world took notice of climate change it was too late to stop the impact. The eventual cooperation of nation states managed to halt the full scale climate destruction but a sea level rise of 2 metres has destroyed cities around the globe.
Most of the Mercury divergences are greatly impacted by the effects of climate change with some divergences experiencing human extinction events.
The prime divergence happened when the Catalhoyuk civilization spread becoming the dominant civilization in the middle east and much of Europe. The people were practitioners of magic that lead to the eventual rise of the ancient green dragon Garaug'thal.
Divergence Seren is a world where magic is common and science has faded into the background. For hundreds of years much of the world was controlled by an ancient Green Dragon. A group of heroes called the Jade Ravens eventually defeated the dragon in most of the Sierra divergences.

Divergence Orion
This divergence emerged from the Juno divergence and is the only known divergence strain to stem from another divergence. Most prime divergences stem from one of the hundreds of Terra Primus iterations, but Terra Alternis E1 started during the Roman civil war between Marc Antony and Octavian. The Orion divergence happened when Octavian was killed and magic increased in prominence.
Octavia, Rome's first Empress, outlawed magic and the religion of Erebos but both persisted in some form throughout all of the Orion divergences making them unique, as it is the only divergence where the religion of Erebos exists.

The wandering planet
Divergence Rakta is an unstable divergence that has vast pockets of chaos within its galaxies. Inexplicably many of the Rakta divergences interact with each other with people hopping from one divergence to another. All Raktta divergences somehow developed space flight prior to 1000 CE with ships reliant on drives that use contained chaos magic for propulsion.
Governments are for the most part obsolete and the mega corporations own and run galaxies. War is almost constant as the mega corporations battle each other for dominance.
